My debut EP ‘‘The Heart Has Many Rooms’’ acknowledges that we all carry grief and love, we all have darkness and light, we endure loss and longing, but no emotion needs to succumb to the other. We must learn to carry all of ourselves in a healing truthful way. This is the theme of Christmas - The time for both misery and hope. Most people can relate to an ambivalent feeling toward Christmas, it is a time for reflection of the years that have gone by, and of what’s to come. It is the time of joy and pain, simultaneously. The key to human existence is to create space for a meaningful coexistence of contradicting emotions. I do not think we can trade one feeling for another. I believe it is important to let yourself feel whatever you feel, it is possible to have two feelings at the same time. I miss someone I love, who died when I was only 18, so I grieve, along with the feeling of being grateful for the life that I have now, my new family. I feel misery and hope at the same time, this is how I carry all of myself in a healing truthful way.
With this EP - The Heart Has Many Rooms - I take you on a journey through loss, and love. Life is filled with uphills, you may lose your way home, or maybe you didn’t have a home to begin with, but then you meet someone that gives that to you. I was deprived of my home, starting my adult life in the most horrible way, I lost everything, there were pieces scattered everywhere, and so my journey through darkness began. It has taken everything to get where I am today. Losing someone close causes a lasting imprint, it is not something you get over. These songs convey grief over losing someone who once made you feel like home. But even though you are hurt, wounded or broken, it does not mean you should stop searching for closeness. The greatest knowledge we have in this world is that everything will end, but we who are left behind will never forget and always carry that and those who are gone, connection crosses infinite boundaries! Everytime you remember, you will connect with the ones you have lost once again.
These songs are tales from my life, my darkness, my gold. Now I wish to share them with all of you, it is time you see your gold too!
